These
programs will present how diagnosis and treatment of disease can be
improved in light of the latest research findings as interpreted by
NIH experts. The programs are of interest to primary care
physicians, specialists and allied health professionals. This
activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the
Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing
Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the National
Institutes of Health/Foundation for Advanced Education in the
Sciences (NIH/FAES) and the Association of Academic Health Centers.
The NIH/FAES is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing
medical education for physicians.
The NIH/FAES
designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.5 hours in
category 1 credit for each program (total of 15 hours for entire
series) towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award.
Each
physician should claim only those hours of credit actually spent in
the educational activity.

These NIH "Bench to Bedside" programs are a valuable
educational resource for major medical institutions, community
hospitals, and clinical group practices. They have been produced at
the NIH studio facilities in a roundtable format utilizing state of
the art television graphics for all presentations. The programs have
been designed to engage front line clinical practitioners with
"cutting edge" research information that can be easily understood
and readily put into practice at the bedside. Each program is
approximately sixty minutes in length and is available on both
videotape and CD-ROM. Application for CME credit is available
on the CenterNet website by clicking on "CME" above and via mail and fax.
There is no fee charged for the CME credits.
This series of five recently broadcast programs are now available on videotape. The approximate running time for each program is sixty minutes in length.
